.....I was that age when, to my eternal shame, I too entered the portals of Television Centre to stand around in the TOTP studio like a total lemon, flared and tank-topped, battling cameras zooming about like crazed dodgems, all because my idiot mate Mark said 'it's a load of tarts dancing, we're sure to pull, it'll be just us and 200 girls'.

When I was in the first year, Curly Wurlys were 2 feet long, and by the time I got to the 5th, they were only about 6 inches.
Of course, I might have grown a bit, and they just seemed smaller.
Perhaps there's a Theory of Chocolate Relativity, and the length of a given confectionery-bar depends upon the observer's position in Space and Time, how much pocket-money you've got left after buying those nudey playing-cards from Dirty Dave in 4H, and of course whether it's hot enough outside to melt the chocolate........
