How footballers think...

Frank Sinclair talking about the rape allegations against him and two other players:

"I think clubs will change the way they do things now," said Sinclair, who is currently unsigned after being dropped by Leicester at the end of the season. "On the first night we all checked into the hotel, the managers took us to one side and said, 'Right, we're not training tomorrow, so you can have a night out and just behave yourselves.'

"If we did have a curfew we would definitely have been home a bit earlier."

That last line pretty much sums up how footballers think - if only their club had set a curfew then they would've been tucked up in bed like good little boys, rather than pissing it up in nightclubs.

Instead of "clubs changing the way they do things" how about players start acting like adults and stop blaming everyone else for their stupid behaviour.

Couldn't agree more bro.
Footballers fuck me off completely. Retarded, wealthy, shit cunt mongrels.
I can't stand the game as it is.
Load of tribal bollocks.

Having said that, I hope West Ham beat Crystal Palace.

"Retarded, wealthy, shit cunt mongrels."

Couldn't have put it better myself, well said!

But although West Ham - deservedly - beat my Ipswich in the semi-finals I hope they get stuffed by Palace.

Purely because more than one Hammer was giving it the 'we're bigger than Ipswich and deserve to be in the Premiership' bollocks.

Eagles!

You might be a bigger name than Ipswich - thanks to being a good team 40 years ago - but 'deserving' to be in the Premiership?

You got relegated 'cos you weren't good enough and hopefully handsome man Dowie can help keep you down with small clubs like Ipswich.

Seriously, I don't really care who goes up, but even a Hammers fan like yourself must get fed up with all that 'academy of football' crap that's churned out.

West Ham's last major trophy was...?

You wouldn't slag off Hammers if we were face to face cos ah doo ya naa wot ah mean geezer.

Actually I agree with you.
West Ham were damned good back in the old days. By the early 80's they were stuffed.
They just happened to be one of my local teams growing up. The other being Orient, or Leyton Orient as it's now known. Latent Homosexuals more like.

I have never been to a football match in my life and seriously doubt I ever will. Even if I ever have children & grandchildren, I'd rather take them to the Tae Kwon Do tournaments.
I hate the terrace attitudes.
So much foul language and racist spasticity.

I remember football when it was about the game and not the multi million pound signings or the lifestyle sponsors.
They may have money but it doesn't stop them acting like retarded shit cunts.

They tore the heart out of English football when the terraces went , all because of one game where the Police lost it .

Oh piss off Fastbike.

How many people had been hurt/killed at Hillsborough before that tragic day? May I suggest the answers are a few/none respectively.

The design of the old Leppings Lane End was poor, in that the entrance funnelled people directly down onto the terrace. I've been to a good many football grounds of the Pre-Taylor Report era and was never fearful of standing directly infront of those who had just entered the ground. Most had a staircase or some open ground to pass thorough before the terracing, thus diffusing/diluting the surge of any crowd queing, therefore reducing the risk of any crush.

The Police has also been to that ground many times before..... with no incidents.

So! What was different that particular day?

...mmmmm...... drunken Scousers late for the match because they had spent to much time in the pub?

Obviously those who WHERE ALREADY in the ground where the sensible ones... very regrettably there were the ones to suffer, and my heartfelt sadness goes out to those who lost family there. (Although this constant bleating from the 'hillsborough family group' or what ever they are called does get on my tits)

A badly designed football ground will not by itself hurt anybody. Put there alone a Police force and BY ITSELF ALONE then no others will be hurt. Introduce several tens of thousand SENSIBLE Liverpool fans then no problem. Add to this a shower of pissed Scouce idiots, late for the match, keen to get in, unwilling to listen to instructions.... think of the bobby on a horse lifted off the ground with them pushing.... and THAT is a recipe for disaster.

Pissed Scousers were, very regrettably, directly responsible for the deaths of 90 odd of there fellow supporters.

Very sadly they seem reluctant to accept this fact.

I'm with the Sun on this.

As I said, those who died where not to blame. Those who stopped in the pubs too late, or who arrived in a hurry, were.

I'm not being argumentative nor trying to be awkward. Merely stating what many people think.

Sorry.

Sid.

If you'd had your innocent father, brother, son, or best friend crushed to death at a football game you might be 'bleating' about it too.

The poor policing on the day was very much a contributing factor to the deaths of 96 people.

The police opened the gates to let the latecomers in. The police decided to allocate the Leppings Lane end to Liverpool fans despite the fact that the year before they'd had the bigger Kop end of Hillsborough. It was the police who either couldn't or wouldn't open the 'safety' fences at the front of the terrace and, quite literally, stood and watched people get crushed to death.

It's very easy to blame drunk football fans, but back then Liverpool were no worse or better for having fans turn up at a minute to three, pissed up and expecting to get in the ground.

If you're with the Sun newspaper on this one, why not get their very tasteful "Hillsborough - THE TRUTH" front cover printed on a t-shirt and wear it round Anfield. I'm sure you'll find plenty of people - perhaps those who lost loved ones - who will thank you for it.

And anyway, how do you know that you're "merely stating what many people think". That's a pretty grand statement to make, don't you think?

Exactly , the "security" fences left nowhere for people to go . This was a disaster waiting to happen and 90% of the blame rests with the police , so what happens , they get off , the families get no justice or closure , and we get anaesthetised football grounds .
If some Liverpool fans having a drink before a game surprised the police then I suggest the Hillsborough villains don't have much to worry about .
