Kiwi Fury at new underarm incident

Kiwi = New Zealanders not Rampant Fruit or Angry Birds

This time in soccer/football

In previous years Australia & New Zealand have never lost to any of the Island Nations in Oceania for World Cup Qualification but this time around

New Zealand lost to Vanuatu 4-2 and
Australia drew with the Solomon Islands 2-2

The message....when you lose to a lesser nation you place your destiny i others hands

To say that Australia intentionally drew with the Solomon Islands to guarantee no New Zealand is farcical IMHO

It might happen in Cricket but not Soccer/Football

....sorry, where does the 'underarm' bit come in?
Is it a deodorant-related thing?

'Underhand', yes, if there's any truth in that Aus rumour....although if NZ got beat by Vanuatu, they don't deserve to go through, in much the same way as if England damn near lose to Japan, and only put 6 past the third-worst team in the expanded Europe..............

JJ the Magnificient stumped!!!

The classic case of money over sportsmanship

To put it into context...in the previous game Australia had lost on the last ball to the West Indies when their Number Eleven Ian McDaniel(worse than Glen McGrath in the batting stakes) took a lusty swing at a ball pitched on leg stump and sent it straight over the fine leg/mid wicket boundary

Greg Chappell...great batsman/cricketer but sportmanship isn't a word that is in his vocabulary...one very selfish human being IMHO

It`s all about quite a few years ago, when Australia played New Zealand.
The Aussie captain (Ian Chappell I think) ordered his bowler to bowl the final ball of the match underarm, to stop New Zealand winning the match.

I recall the incident: I just didn't see the connection in a football context.
Had you said 'Chappell underarm' all would have been clear.

There is no connection apart from KIWI paranoia

If Australia really wanted to hurt KIWI Soccer we would just send all the Kiwis collecting Australian Tax Paid benefits Home

Would end any sporting teams being funded quick smart

The all whites would have to get their Playing Strip from the Local Nunnery

My memory says the bowler was Lillee . The Kiwis needed a boundary to win , and you can't hit one of an underarm with a modern bat. Those Aussies , do they like winning ?
