just been reading bits from the trial,that bloke seemed very disturbed and dangerous that killed her.

notice that the french police managed to cock up big time in this investigation, not taking any fingerprints at the scene or starting door to door enquiries until 13 months later. if her father hadn't pushed the issue by going over there 18 times, i doubt if they would've managed to bring him to trial. makes you wonder if they would have been more urgent in their enquiries if she'd been french!

A child killing is appalling, whatever the nationality. Sadly, incompetence is a fact of life in police forces worldwide.

The onus is definitely on the Belgian establishment to exonerate themselves, I believe.
The French just seem to have been callously inefficient and negligent- and there may be a very small xenophobic element there too, although I have never had the slightest hint of this personally from French acquaintances.

just read hes got 30 yrs but will probaly only serve 20.
