Have I seen this game before? Only this time it was France instead of Brazil.

England play really well for the first half. Then play the second as if they have zero self-belief. Defending non-stop but clearing the ball anywhere up the field - usually to the French. It just seemed a question of time before France got an opportunity to score in the same way as it was with Brazil, second half.

And then to cap it all, schoolboy howler from Gerrard in the mode of Seaman's misjudgement.

Being optimistic, at least this game wasn't at the knockout stage! If England can't beat Croatia and Switzerland based on the early evening performance, then we don't deserve to progress

I don't claim to know much about football but I watched and enjoyed tonight's game. From my perspective it all seemed to be going pretty well for England until a bloke called Heskey came on and gave away a free kick in a dangerous position with just a minute to go. From what I can make out it was his only contribution!

why couldn't Heskey have just fallen over as per usual when challenging for the ball?.

If we're going to lay blame lets start at the beginning

One of the games best free kick specialists couldn't beat that french outfielder that masquerades as Frances Goalkeeper 1 on 1 from the spot

They did not outplay us , they outhought us . It's in the past now , England must pick themselves up and go on to qualify for the ko stage . If we meet France again then we have had a good look at them and we can beat them . Please dont whinge about Beckham , I wish I could hit the dead ball like he does , (not if it meant shagging Victoria Beanpole afterwards though)

Bloody hell England,Good game but i just knew it,got sloppy in last 5 minutes and i could see a goal was about to come.

Ledley King (Never heard of him until last night,good solid perforance at the back)

Good game for him at least every time he got the ball he was willing to do something with it and chase after it.

My man who played utter fucking shite:
Paul Scholes and Michael Owen (both deresved to be subbed last night,BUT right chioce for Owen replacement BUT what the FUCK was Sven thinking off putting that nancy tart Owen Hargreaves,(Not england material)who took over Scholes,i missed the 1st minute so i didn't see who was on bench But i would off played Dyer instead of this prat,why well for starters Dyer is one of those players who can run at defenders and has pace.(with Rooney running at the French at times with the ball,there were shit scared of him)
Actually what is wrong with scholes i've never seen him have a good game yet(last time he played really well was when England Thrashed the Germans 5-1),He might be good club player but his performances are not England material(I wouldn't play him i think there better midfield players than him).

Well i think England will win the 2 games but possibly go out quarter final stage.

Here a dark horse to watch out for in competition who could spring a few surprises (I got a sneaky feeling the Czech Rep team could cause a few upsets in this competition,i think there are at moment the 2nd most in form team in Europe right now)

I don't call scoring deep into injury time to draw level out thinking your opposition

You get into the what if? territory when you do and thats never productive

Croatia & Switzerland should be easily accounted for as long as England put away every scoring opportunity

OK Deuce , I think we see eye to eye , what I was saying is that France went at it just like Man U in their recent (past) glory years including the treble , never stopped believing right up to the final whistle . Eriksson was reported to being sending his team out with his last words of advice being "keep cool heads " , this is why I felt "outhought" was the right word .

As an avid Liverpool fan, it was always against the grain to critise Heskey....but now he's gone I agree he is a fuckwit.
