I'd have to nominate Prince's "Purple Rain" just listening to it now (fuck the footy) not a bad song on it, shit film though!

Trainspotting does indeed rock, but my vote goes to Pulp Fiction.
'Girl you'll be a woman soon' and 'Son of a Preacher Man' standing out.

But you also have to sit through a Maria McKee dirge. Like the other QT soundtracks, there's always soemthing that lets the side down.
American Beauty, Donnie Darko, Moulin Rouge. There have been some excellent ones in the last few years.
"Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead."

It's not a whole soundtrack, but the start of Gangster No. 1 has 'the good life' (Tony Bennet, I think although I could be wrong) playing while the villains are all sitting round drinking and smoking cigars. Great stuff.
And talking of QT, of course there's 'Stuck in the Middle With You' from Reservoir Dogs. The film, I think, was overrated but whenever you hear that song you can't help but think of the ear-slicing scene.

Lord of the Rings had a wonderful soundtrack (and the final song in The Two Towers is lovely too).

Who'd have thought that Gollum's Song could be so moving. Into The West is the ideal way to end the saga.
