Who knows, Steve?

But there almost certainly won't be a fairy tale 'they all lived happily ever after' type of ending.

Prolly means vicious repression cheap oil and no one can blame us because Iraq has it's own government again .
Technically the US and UK have been the rulers of Iraq as "occupying powers " . The appalling recent violence has been aimed at convincing moderate Sunnis that they would be well advised not to oppose the unreconstructed Sadammites . If the interim govt. is to survive and prosper it may well take the gloves off. I see a delay in the the legitmising of power through a democratic mandate is already vanishing like a mirage on hot sand .
This post was actually longer at one time .
