Know your place

This is an actual extract from a sex education school text book for girls, printed in the early 60's in the UK and written by a woman!

"When retiring to the bedroom, prepare yourself for bed as promptly as possible. Whilst feminine hygiene is of the utmost importance, your tired husband does not want to queue for the bathroom as he would have to do for his train. But remember to look your best when going to bed. Try to achieve a look that is welcoming without being obvious. If you need to apply face-cream or hair-rollers wait until he is asleep as this can be shocking to a man last thing at night.

When it comes to the possibility of intimate relations with your husband it is important to remember your marriage vows and in particular your commitment to obey him. If he feels that he needs to sleep immediately then so be it. In all things be led by your husband's wishes, do not pressure him in any way to stimulate intimacy. Should your husband suggest congress then agree humbly all the while being mindful that a man's satisfaction is more important than a woman's. When he reaches his moment of fulfilment a small moan from yourself is encouraging to him and quite sufficient to indicate any enjoyment that you may have had.

Should your husband suggest any of the more unusual practices be obedient and uncomplaining, but register any reluctance by remaining silent. It is likely that your husband will then fall promptly asleep so adjust your clothing, freshen up and apply your night time face and hair care products.

You may then set the alarm so that you can arise shortly before him in the morning. This will enable you to have his morning cup of tea ready when he awakes

Jesus fucking Christ, what a sexist world that was, and not that long ago. I wish all young women realised just how recently all thats changed for them...its not that i think they complain too much but having a little perspective on something like this would make them think twice once in a while!

Well, to some of us Daily Mail reading types, this is the way the world should be.

"I've had a trying day at the office, dear, so please stop descaling the cat and fellate me this instant."

Ah, those were the days. Back in the time when we didn't need to pretend and could call the Empire the Empire, not the Commonwealth. When you could have a slap up meal in a swanky west end hotel, three double malts, a ticket to see The Black And White Minstrels and still have enough change from a ten bob note to spend an hour in Mrs Payne's establishment having one's bottom warmed.

I'm not casting doubt on your honesty mutant but where did that quote originate?
Do you have the original publication? I bet you don't.

A quick check on Google reveals that quote on numerous 'humour' websites and also a few 'serious' sites.

But still no mention of where the original text came. Mutant refers to a sex education book, elsewhere it's described as a home economics book.

Either way, sounds like a hoax.

Good fun though!

That was what I suspected. I'm always suspicious when the full reference isn't quoted.
