bought some fresh haddock today, first time in ages, and asked that it be filleted. just had it and low and behold found loads of fucking bones. put me right off and couldn't finish me tea. is anyone else like me, find any bones and that's it! can't continue eating it or am i too fussy, as the ex-wife used to tell me!
i'm the same with other foods, can't stand having to be careful when i'm eating, just want to be able to scoff it without worrying what i'm doing!

If filleted properly, haddock ought to be effectively boneless- apart from some tiny, flexible intermuscular bones (like the pin-bones in herring, etc) which ought not to cause any grief.
Better you buy a whole fish and fillet it yourself (it's easy)- that way you'll be sure. Flatties are even better if you want easy-to-get-at boneless fillets.
Avoid oily fish such as herring and mackerel like the plague.

Holden probably eats raw fish while performing wheelies on his bike, the saddle sharpened to razor-like standard, and considers us fillet fans a bunch of effeminate fannies.

Kick up a fuss to whichever fishmonger filleted yer fish. I HATE buying fish thats supposedly filleted and see written in small print, 'may contain bones'. JJ is correct about pin bones, but sometimes you get 'em the size of a clipped toenail in them. Bang out of order!!

I think the worst culprit is trout............the amount of pin bones puts me and my cats right off!!

in 68 i nearly chocked on a cod bone sposed to have been filleted.

I like mine skin, scales and slime.

I suspect the fishmonger did a sloppy job in this case.
If you did 500 a day, I expect you'd make the odd bish- I can't imagine it's a particularly thrilling job after the first 100 or so............

The worst is shellfish- I'd never trust them to get all the bits out.

not a fan of shell fish at all! i will eat prawns if they are shelled, but that's about it.
what people see in eating winkles, cockles, etc at the seaside i'll never know!!!
