New Laws

I had a call from a photographer friend
He saw a site on the internet whilst browsing through one of the many model listing sites.
The site was of a 15 year old girl posing provocatively in sexy lingerie, inviting people to join in her live webcam shows, buy her underwear etc (for obvious reasons i am not going to name the site).
It even had details on how to contact her webmaster/manager etc.
What the most annoying thing was is that my friend reported this to child protection and they said that they had better things to do.
Apologies if this post is OT or out of bounds just wanted to air my anger.

The site has been reported to an internet watchdog and removed.

Hi Michelle,
Any site like that should be reported straight away to ASACP at
http://www.asacp.org/ and I would also recommend reporting to the police as well if you knew they were UK based.
Cheers

there are literally hundreds of commercial sites featuring under 18 models in extremely skimpy clothing and in very probvocative poses these days I'm afraid. Some of the banners I've seen advertise sites where the girls are as young as 10. A very, very sad situation indeed in my book. I presume they are allowed to stay up becuase the content does not depict nudity.

I have reported things to Child Protection when working for the Probation Service, only to get a similar response. Although inside experience leads me to having no faith whatsoever in social services, I think in CP's case it is simplya matter of being too overworked, rather than lack of interest. Far too many cases which have to take priority.
15 is a bit extreme though. But let's not forget that many of the Page 3 girls started their careers at the age of 16. Some being shot covered, but arguably in a "titilating manner" in the weeks coming up to their birthday launch. And I know of a particular famous British model who's boyfriend has been actively targeting girls in the 16-18 bracket recently, though I don't know if any of his sites are still up.
The laws in this country tend to be a joke to say the least, and as the system to change them is such a farce, we are pretty much stuck with them. As long as loopholes can be found, people will exploit them to the utmost.

Something else that I've been wondering about, now we're on the subject. Take a look at the pics in this set:
http://www.porno-pixxx.com/jt/realcouples/004/tgp1.html You can clearly see photos of children on the walls, plus high chair, potty, etc in the room.
When I shoot at models homes I spend ages removing things like this, ESPECIALLY photographs. Am I wasting my time doing so? or are other photographers on dodgy grounds by not doing so? It also occurs to me that the legal guardians of the children pictured are also open to being accused of negligence in alowing the pictures to be visible during the shoot. OK, I know porn stars have children too, but aren't they at even more obligation to keep work and family separate?
Also a model I work with shot panty peeing video in another model's garden recently, and the sound track clearly features the sound of children playing in the next garden.
So am I making too much of this, or are many models and photographers being far too careless about it?

Hi
No you are not making too much of it, I think an adult film with the sound of children playing in the background is pretty nasty.
I understand your point re page 3 models of years gone by being photographed at 16 but that was before the internet.
What concerns me re this 15 yr old girls website is the fact that someone is running it as a manager role, and the last thing we want are younger girls seeing this as an example and following suit.

.......and yet new legislation is likely to allow under-16s to abort without their parents' even knowing. Who signs the consent-form for this- presumably moderately risky- surgery? A social worker? Any old passer-by? Will they tell the parents in the event that 14-year-old Chelsea dies on the table, or has 'complications'?
Wouldn't these idiot social workers/GPs/MPs who have daughters like to know if THEIR little darlings were joining the Pudding Club?
For a government that harps endlessly about 'family values' they seem Hell-bent on subverting the traditional family.
I can understand the terror felt by a young girl at the thought of her parents finding out, but in my (limited) experience they tend to rally round after the initial hysterics- children are notoriously bad judges of their families. That's no reason to (literally) throw the baby out with the bath-water.
