Is this the future of how we view Porn ?

I noticed Phil McC saying there was a lack of serious discussion so here goes !
Is this how we will all be buying porn in the near future ?

Yesterday I downloaded Rocco Animal Trainer from vidx.tv Now I am lucky that I have broadband, but it took just over 90 minutes for the full movie. From what I can see, It uses the microsoft digital rights management system , I bought a 7 day license, which was just under 6 quid. Quality was very good, It played in windows media player 7 full screen.
I was certainly impressed. I for one as a broadband user will be using this method in the future. I get my movie within a couple of hours, instead of waiting for the postie.. and he can't nick this one ! and it was less money, so if the film was shite, I don't feel I have wasted 20 quid or more.So I was wondering as more and more people get broadband will this be how we buy ?There was an option to purchase a lifetime licenese if you liked the movie enough.I notice they do have an option for delivering the movie on cd if you have a connection below a 100k, but I can't comment on how that is, has anyone used the cd option ?

Do you still have to sit at the PC to watch it?
Or do you (expensively?) upload it to DVD/VCD/VHS format?
I spend enough time at my PC as it is..............

with the files they sell it looks like you can only download to your hard drive but all you have to do is conect your tv to your system and bingo.

seems good value but there are so many people who you can download the films for free, then transfer to vid/dvd that it doesnt appeal to me.

again brits are left behind in our caves by the bloody yanks when it comes to a new porn idea.

Good point JJ, yes that is the only downer at the moment, you must watch it on the machine you download to. I am sure though if this becomes popular, it won't be long before there is some box or other which means we can watch on the TV. Now I am downloading the british movie fuckfest from David Carter.. the plan is to watch it after the England game, again with a bit of planning, you have porn for when you want to watch it. That appeals to me.

the digital rights management from Microsoft uses a license key. I copied this to a cd, gave to a friend and all it does is take him to the payment gate for a license key. I think this is the same system that Bertelsmann bought for napster, I know its how they want to sell music on the net.Regarding the license ,Its good for Vidx .. free distribution, the more its copied the better for them !, but the system means you must watch on the computer you download to,otherwise you have to pay again.

I took Buttmans Anal Divas on the CD. it cost me 1.20 to get it sent, which is cheaper than me downloading the thing on my connection It took 3 days to arrive from day of order.

Quality was very good, better than VHS, but I would not say quite as good as DVD, but close. My opinion is, its a cheap way for me to watch a recent release video. My total cost for the 7 day license was just over Seven quid.

You can own a full license for 14.95. I will certainly use again, the choice is limited at the moment, but the e-mail I had, says more titles will be released this way, and the Rocco movies will release in Vidx format before DVD from May.

Cheers,

San Miquel

Alternatively, you could go to Soho and buy full DVD copies of (a whole range of) Rocco films for ?10 - ?20 apiece, comparable with your ?14.95 'permanent licence' fee but in this case for a packaged material item with a substantial resale fee (unlike your bit of code) and half price exchange. Not sure if Animal Trainer is on R18 DVD yet, but you are quite right, it is the finest continental film ever made, mainly 'cause it is the dickalicious Amanda Dawkins' most 'hardcore' performance ever. God love her.

Quite probably,

the film industry (including the adult film industry) is
going to be facing the same sort of situation as the
music industry did with mp3 & napster. The music industry
survived, but the consumer wound up with more diverse
ways of paying for and "stealing" product and CD sales
are not great.

As broadband becomes more widespread one of the more
likely consequences is an erosion on the monopolies of
distribution that exist within the UK - but that
assumes existing legislation does not change.

There are loads of non-digital rights video sites out there. http://www.eurobirds.com is a favourite of mine, full videos to download and keep on your HD for just a one time fee
