Evening folks!!
Mid August is always an exciting time for we amateur astronomers as we look forward to the annual meteor display of the Perseids. This year is supposed to be a bumper crop of them, with tonight being their peak! Ten mins in me back garden and I've seen 3 super ones!! The flare stack at the coke works and the plume of ICI's cooling towers cannot hide these cosmic fireworks!!
Suppose to be better towards dawn, but well worth a few minutes looking.... find the Pole Star and gaze at the sky between the Pole Star and the 5 stars in the shape of a big W below and the the right. Bound to see some goodies!!
You lot have a nice night now!!
