Now he has given his resignation in, he's being touted as a future England Football Coach!!!!!!!!!!!
Sine the World Cup win, England have lost a fair few and had some key players retire, so I think Clive has taken a logical step in stepping down, BUT football coach?????????!!!!!!!
Hasn't got his coaching (FIFA) badge, but will command respect from the players. A no-nonsense coach who will come down on poncey haircuts and scruffy attire wearing overpaid slags at the England squad, so don't expect INSTANT sucess ON the field, but at least the players will look smart OFF the field.
Seriously, a BIG divide and one I hope Clive does well in, but I don't see it

I can't see it either,
"coach to the Rugby world champions decides to resign & waste his time as coach to a bunch of arrogant, selfish, lazy, unfit, anti social, scruffy, money grabbing, oversexed, overpaid, overrated, dope test avoiding, cry baby girls!"
"Boss, Boss he pulled me 'air! He pushed me in the back!! He's 'oldin me shirt!!"
"Yer avin a laugh!!!!!!!!"
Maybe he'll become Chief Exec of the shameful FA instead......bang a few heads together, cut out the deadwood & show them how to be men & conduct themselves publicly & privately with pride, decency & common dignity.....now that might achieve something!

I see him in a similar vein to Aussie Rod Macqueen,
3 steps ahead of the oppostion mentally because they both think outside the square

Its not like he's going to teach these professional players anything technical or tactical that they don't already know

Its only in Mental preparation that he will be useful

England has enough talent but they don't really believe they can beat a Brazil on any given day

cheers

ahem guys, is this the same SIR Clive Woodward we are talking about, all I can say is best of luck to the guy, but seems his friendship with Southampton Chairman Rupert Lowe should basically say it all, with the unfair demise of Paul Sturrock and the seemingly hasty appointment of Steve Wigley as head team coach at the club, does this not shout out the pretty obvious next step?? It seems these chairman think they know best and some of them tend to put their mouth where their money is, plus how much publicity would this bring to Southampton F.C.??

I can see the big issues being with multimiallionaire players not having the respect for a non football player
The man is a rugby god in this country but not a football tactician, he will be undermined by the senior players in any premiership club.
If Bobby Robson can be undermined what chance does Woodward have

I think 'cutting his teeth' at Southampton is an ideal situation for learning the game, BUT he would have LOTS more admirers if he dropped down a few leagues and learnt it from the VERY basics.
I really will be monitoring this as I think Woodward is a great motivator and is proud of this country.........something Erikkson will NEVER be!!
Oh, Clive Woodward is known to have smacked big lads like Neil Back and Lawrence Delaglio........never once been hit back......... out of respect. The bloke KNOWS his stuff.
I can imagine certain ponces like some of the usual under-achievers England have, will be shitting themselves at the prospect of Sir Clive giving a half-time team talk!!
I think he will also be disgusted at the wages players command, something we all agree on!!

Now he has got pissed off and I'm not surprised.
I never thought I would get wound up about England rugby. No wonder sport is in such a sorry state with clubs only being concerned about their own success (meaning money/sponsorship). What a load of corrupt bastards.
