Sorry Stevie, yer wrong. This series is one of 5 essential viewings from the USA. Sure, its probably re-scripted from series already shown years ago, but this show pisses on The Saint.
Did you figure out who did it or was it the same as The Saint?
Oh, the 5 TV Shows I find essential viewing are;
1) the Shield
2) The Soprano's
3) CSI : Miami or CSI
4) West Wing/24 ( A DEAD HEAT here)
5) Futurama
ER nearly made MY list, but its been shit for the past 4 years

The first two episodes of 24 were mesmerising, but thereafter it became formulaic, in my humble opinion, and I gave up after episode four. I tuned into a later episode to see if it had improved and found plot development No. 72 in place (character believes daughter has died and suffers shock-induced amnesia). I really don't see the appeal of the show.
Admittedly, it was just the first series I saw.
West Wing and Six Feet Under are great. Not sure Bimmercat would agree with the former, since it has a liberal's ideal president.

I understand the first series of 24 was only written and commissioned for about half its run, so once it caught on and had its run extended the creators found themselves against the clock to get it finished. Hence the many contrivances, and why series two was so much better.
If you haven't seen it yet, series three starts out somewhat generically, shifts into slow, grinding tension-building, then really cranks it up right till the end. Bauer dishing out the mother of all headbutts is the TV highlight of the year, and watch in awe as they quite literally take an axe to the oldest thriller cliche in the book in the very last minutes....
