I don't know what he did, not being rich enough to afford Sky's fees (having only one arm and one leg doesn't help, and this disability precludes me getting down to the local Sky pub where all the thieves and bandits drinlk when they aren't out muggin/gang-raping/generally abusing people called JJ), but: let me guess.....
He let in a total softie, didn't he?
I would be happier even were Beckham to be in goal- since he can't score them, it's only logical that he should be able to stop them.
Well.....isn't that the same sort of IKEA-Zen-logic that Sven-Baby uses whenb picking a squad?

Hey, Illinois Blue, how about a rousing chorus of, "It's all gone quiet over there!"
England and Scotland. We're crap, and we know we are. At what point does it cease being fashionable to jump onto the Republic of Ireland bandwagon?

At least England will qualify for the WC and the end of the day, all we Scots have to look forward to is a slow tortuous campaign with a manager who knows feck all.

Ah, but we'll no doubt have a cracking song out of it, at least!
Let's hope it rivals "Ally's Army"...

I spent ten years in therapy just to have the cringe removed from my psyche. The merest mention of any of the A words (Ally or Argentina) is likely to cause a relapse.
Oh, and Scotland's greatest World Cup moment is managing to be the only unbeaten side in the 1974 tournament. Still didn't get through to the later stages, though
One other thing, that staple of sporting comedians over the years --- the Scottish goalkeeper. David Seaman, David James et al hardly inspire confidence. Face it, England had two class goalies---Banks and Shilton---and a bunch of "well, they'll do" types since.

Why would anybody want to be a Goal keeper
If you don't get mentioned you've had a good game but as soon as you make 1 clanger your a loser of mammoth proportions
Far easier being a striker.....miss vital chances and you get a pat on the back for making the opportunity out of nothing
You can go matches and not even score but as long as your team gets the result nobody seems to say squat
If David 'calamity' James is that bad who is his replacment?
cheers

Pertinent comment, and a man (let me guess- a Scot?) who spells 'tortuous' correctly instead of the YTS/BBC way !!
JIb, cut, like.
