Gotta see tonight?s documentary on BBC3@ 9pm repeated at 1.25 am:
BLOOD ON THE TURNTABLES
John Lydon made a big impression on I'm a Celebrity.... earlier this year, and this documentary is a reminder of what a scathing yet savvy character he is. In straightforward style, it tells the story of the Sex Pistols and how they kick-started punk. The strongest moments come in archive film of the Pistols in their snarling heyday, but there's also fun to be had from interviews with Lydon and manager Malcolm McLaren, as they continue a feud dating back to 1976. The first of three documentaries about milestones in music (the Stone Roses and hip-hop are to come), this is a familiar tale somewhat undermined by overblown claims in the commentary.
