i never liked melody maker or nme really they took the piss too much i did web search it mentions the family way book and others sounds boring really.

Several years later he happened to be staying in the same hotel as Tony who proceeded to beat the shit out of the media wanker in the car park! If it is the same guy he still has the facial scars to this day!

Reminds me of another story about a tosser that wrote something in Kerrang insulting Steve Harris of Iron Maiden. When Harris unexpectedly called in at the office to confront the guy the little worm shit himself and hid in the toilet!

Sorry, Rude Boy, it wasn't Parsons but Allan Jones (ex-Melody Maker ed.)who was beaten up by Iommi. One acount of the incident cites Iommi as having some 'assistance' in the matter whilst Jones stood alone. Nice.

You're right, I've just checked a book on Sabbath which recounts the incident and it was indeed Allan Jones who took a hell of a beating. It's an unofficial book and mentions a member of Sabbath's crew keeping a look out while Iommi really gave this guy a kicking.

It's an unsavoury incident but I feel no sympathy for the guy to be honest, sure it's par for the course for journalists to slate a band's music but too many of these creeps make personal attacks on people which aren't on so I think they deserve what they get personally.
