Basically, I need to get an iMovie/Final Cut DV into .wmv format. I know/think it can't be done directly, is there a go-between software product I can use?

I had the same problem. The easy answer is to upgrade to Quicktime Pro. It doesn't cost much, and then you import your film into Quicktime - then you'll be able to export it into WMV or virtually any other format!!!!!!
Take a look at

You might need to look at buying something like Cleaner to export into different codexes.

Or better still, you could buy it for me!

You could try asking the question on the

'Cleaner' will do it
There was also mention of a new 3rd party application to do this conversion in the last issue of Mac User, or Macworld - one of the two. Apparently, it's due to hit the market anytime now and as it's simply for converting QuickTime to .wmv it will be significantly cheaper than Cleaner, which is designed to be the Swiss knife of digital video.
