What the fuck does Cwm mean?
Is it pronounced as in minge lips Quim?
Or more like Dana singing a Churchy song Coom By yaaar and all that.

Cwm means valley and is pronounced coom.
People of the valley.

Ok so my mate Neil, who happens to be Welsh has a mug, and an ugly one at that, that has Cwnry Wales written across it.
Welsh Valley Person?
I'm sure it says that or something close to it.

Cymry = Wales

And I should have added in my earlier post, cwm = coombe (west country alternative for valley).

when i was a little boy off school with colds i be fascinated when the tv was on early afternoon bbc wales would link up with the london region about 13.00hrs,pobol y cwm was on in the afternoon about 15.00 here.

If you go on the BBC website you will find a special feature about the series. When it started it was only going to be 10 episodes.

it was like a welsh corrie in a way,didnt realise it had been going 30 yrs it was about 1981 i recall seeing it,there was a nice blonde in it.

Me and my wife visited Wales only two months ago. Here's an interesting observation. We had some difficulties understanding the people in the South-West. This is not really strange, for we hardly understand some people in the Netherlands, especially those in the Southern part of our province of Limburg, either. But in Bangor the people did not understand us! The most fascinating fact is that when I said 'four' they thought I said 'three'. Whenever I asked for the key to room No. 24 in our hotel, the receptionist offered me the key to room No. 23. The reason cannot be that they usually speak Welsh. The Welsh words for 'three' and 'four' are 'tri' and 'pedwar' respectively (yes, I own a Welsh dictionary).
