watched a few episodes over the weekend,now am i right they are higher up than c.i.d. / then theres a10 that investigate corruption,then theres mi5/mi6.

MI5/6 etc. are not police steve56.
MI stands for Military Intelligence.

yes but that name came from the early days when first set up.it hasn't been part of the military for a long time.mi5 deals with internal security and mi6 is foreign intelligence which spies abroad.

yes special branch are part of the police and deal with political offences and terrorism,a bit like mi5,but sb can make arrests.

interesting to see some famous faces that went on to do other things too;eg dennis waterman was a guest in 1 episode i watched last night later starred in the sweeney his sister was played by stephanie turner that played his wife in the series.
