for info on the quality of individual providers, the most comprehensive resource for uk broaband is adsl guide. especially useful is the message boards section where they have forums dedicated to just about every bb isp in the country.

In the long distant days when I had broadband at home, I was with Telewest and paid ?30/month for a 1mb download speed with no limits. I was turning my PC on before I went to work and leavinr outlook express running for best part 0f 18 hours a day.

So you?re looking at a capped service? There?s 1,000 mega-bytes in a giga-byte, if that helps you calculate things. Naturally, you?ll be downloading far more on BB compared to dial-up, so??? You can always upgrade ofcourse.

PlusNet are a v/good ISP, btw.

by download 1gb per month, do they actually mean ( where's my itallics tab?) 'download'? the whole save target as thing, or do they mean information transfered from www to your hard drive?
