S'funny (regardless of what you think to the current state of the charts...fings ain't wot vey used to be), they are now saying in these days of ratings-chasing, that The Pops isn't getting enough viewers to warrant a prime-time slot on BBC1 anymore. Didn't it used to be on a Thursday night? I can't remember it being up against Coronation Street every weeK?


Are the people at the bbc really THAT stupid???

It's no suprise if true. As a barometer for the music scene as a whole it was always going to fail with its endless facelifts up against a much more fractured mainstream - acts that have hit singles don't always have hit albums these days, and vice-versa. You'd be better off watching CD:UK followed by Later with Jools Holland for a better view of the broader picture. And a better view of Cat Deeley too.
