News Readers loosing thier objectivity

After the recent BBC fiasco I noticed how news readers have become something more then just readers of the news, they are starting to show Bias, One example John Snow channel 4 News, He was dead against the war in Iraq and against Blair, and he was not shy in letting people know this.
Is this healthy, I dont think it is, I thought news readers were supposed to deliver the news in an impartial mannor, now thats being eroded, and I can see why the BBC got into hot water, they lost thier objectivity very clearly wth thier news coverage and took a stance wether you think thats a postive thing or not its still a dangerous path to take.
Older news programmes like News at Ten where very formal, they looked and sounded like the news should, delivered by the news reader with equal tone, listing to John Snow over the War almost salavating with glee getting stuck into Tony Blair just did not seem right, he banged on and on obviously a pawn for channel 4's own political leanings, but I personaly think its wrong for the news to be delivered in such a clearly biased mannor, which is how the BBC now act. If the BBC are not publicly funded then thats fine but as we or most of us pay a licence then they should be as objective as possible, thats what thier mandate says.
One day I hope the BBC are funded differently instead of putting my arm up my back and forcing me to pay for something I neither like or care about.

I cannot see how anyone in their right minds cannot be against Blair, Blunkett & co... it's a crying shame there is no viable alternative to these transparent bastards.

Channel 4 News and all the BBC have had a hand wringing left of centre middleclass bias for years. It's now so ingrained at the Beeb that they genuinely believe that they are the truly 'right thinking' ones and everyone else is either ignorant, and, or, misguided. Consequently, they unwittingly patronise the masses as they gently shepherd them towards the middleclass values and public sector ideals that they hold dear.
During the initial stage of the Iraq campaign, it was said that the British soldiers were so pissed off at the Beeb continually emphasising, and totally taking out of context, stories of Coalition forces bombing and shelling Children?s hospitals and Iraqi wedding parties, but hardly any mention of Coalition success and daring do, that they switched to CNN and Fox News.
Yes, it is unfortunate that the main providers of 'quality' news are so clearly biased. I can deal with it - I simply apply a left of centre middleclass filter to Channel 4 news and the like. But what of those who are not so perceptive?

It's difficult to detect whatever slant News At Ten might have amidst the barrage of sensationalist headlines and jazzy effects. Very american, and doubtless to counter the BBC's cosy, home-counties appeal and beige-shaded cookery show studio. Bias? Well they're obviously tailored to different audiences, presumably those that know exactly what tack the news is going to take just by looking rather than listening. Newsnight's stuffy jacket club and C4's poverty row earnestness offer a slight alternative I suppose. And their news isn't too bad all told.

I think that the news reader's facial expressions have become more theatrical over recent years, particularly on the BBC. Moira Stewart and that welsh guy obviously show complete dissaproval at some of the items that they are reading, at times justified. I find ITV not quite as bad but a bit more lightweight. I've got to say that I find Channel 5 news reports a good blend of the two and Kirstie.......whatever her name is.....tends to read a balanced report, in general. Also, their interviews with Politicians etc seem to last for longer than the major channels i.e. 5 mins instead of 2 mins.

I doubt it is possible for any newscaster to be completley unbiased...is it not?
There was a time in the UK when Newscasters read the news in a very stern poker face way, now they seem be so opinionated I dont want to see what they think of the news they are reading, I want them to tell me whats happened.
I watch Fox News on Sky, I agree it is more right centre then anyother, I cant stomach CNN to me its similare to the BBC and I detest the BBC, I like Bill O,reilly, I don't agree with everything he says but I like his style.
