Is this post related to your sensitivity question, Steve?
Love Thy Neighbour was offensive shite long before political correctness was born. Two grown men shouting, "Sambo" and "Honky" at one another incessantly was never, ever going to be funny.

The series has been out on DVD for some time, and I am wondering if its been censored, as lets face it, it is offensive and some might suggest, aggrevating racial tensions.
Modern releases of TV shows like Minder has censored language, I recall the original airing of Jury Service in Minder where the excellent John Bardon (or Jim Branning to Eastenders fans) states that you 'have to play the White Man' to a West Indian and Chinese man........thats now edited

John was also the racist Enoch Powell supporter in the excellent 'East is East' film.

Although a recent episode on the late G+ has Daley saying he wasn't going to be conned "by a couple of dopey spades"

I think I missed the point in 'East is East' everyone said what a great comedy it was; but I found it to be a quite dark film, with issues like domestic violence, forced circumcision and family outcasts. I found it hard to take as a comedy....except when that big fuck off dog tried to shag that women!
