And i thought i needed glasses?

How can a ref and linesmans not see that ball go over the line. For christ sake is was well over a metre inside the goal!

They both must be Man U fans!

I'm surprised Mike Riley wasn't the ref.

I agree it was indeed a shocking decision and ranks up there with the worst that I have ever seen.

It wasn't even a close call.

It happened because both the ref and linesman were 60 yards away, when the ball was kicked, and couldn,t get back up the pitch, it was clearly a goal, and the only person that could have said so was the goalie, but he wasn,t going to do that was he!, it was a fantastic volley though from the player concerned, I wonder if it was just flook, or he meant it?....

No it wouldn't because old Rudolph the red nose would have missed it all together and it would have hit the back of the net.

I hated Schmeichel when he was at the scum and I hate him more now. He's absolutely bloody useless as a pundit.

Time for the Video Referee me thinks or at the very least Goal Umpires

Other sports use it to confirm contentious issues like goal/no goal
so why would septic blatter want such blights on the game to remain

cheers

The problem is where do you stop the game to assess the video? If you stop it immeadiately, how do you restart the game? If you wait for the next natural break in play, what if that is another goal at the other end? (Which i've seen happen)

Had the play been stopped when the was it /wasn't it decision needed making, there are two psooibilities. One is obviously a goal, and a normal restart. The other is no goal, and the game must be restarted ,under current laws, with a dropped ball on the six yard line. This would have penalised Man U, as there wasn't a player withing 20 yards of the "goal", so the team who haven't commited any sin are at a disadvantage.

Was there a Fourth official at the Man u game, dont they ussualy sit in the stand, why was he not consulted, plus the look of horror on the fans faces when the ball went in the net and the number of Man u fans holding thier massive heads was a clear indication the ball was over the line.
