Can anyone give me some advice of a good software package that
allows you to modifiy mp3 files to wav files.

Just use winamp if you have it.

Options -> Prefs -> Nullsoft Disk Writer Plug-in and then choose your directory for Wav output.

Make sure once you're done that you go back to the prefs and select Nullsoft waveOut plug-in for normal output.

TUCOWS is a great place to go for a wide range of software. Most software is freeware, shareware or limited demoes for free so you can try before you buy.
