just found a strange one, tried to reply to a mates mail but instead of his address coming up on the 'send to' it came up with an address to somewhere called 'spammotel'
none of my other mails do this, i've run spybot, adaware, and McAfee all updated which found nothing, i've also got XP firewall
any ideas?

Easy to become paranoid about spyware and blame it for every fault that occurs
Plenty of people have posted their "hijack this" logs to expecting to be told what to remove only to be told their not infected
I'd be contacting your ISP
Could quite easily be a system anomaly and not your computer

You mean in the literal sense that some people seem to live in there.

Not sure how but it might even have something to do with marketing of the email anti-spam program called, you guessed it SPAMMOTEL
If i were to lay odds of anything that might cause a similar problem I'd pick Cool Web Search...biggest bastard on the net by a mile...often undetectable
Running CW Shredder is about the only thing that removes it fully..adaware & spybot seem to be incapable of this for some reason

re your earlier post about spyware paranoia, I'm suspicious when the standard response from MS "experts" is always to point the finger at anything except flaws in the bloody OS.

Never believe for a minute that the help lines from the big boys are staffed by qualified experts..like any call centre they'd be judged by turn around times and not wether they actually helped you
Just the fact that the information from their user unfriendly website has been made user friendly elsewhere speaks volumes
My standard answer was always UPGRADE UPGRADE UPGRADE and everything will be OK....after I reached the top level they were fresh out of ideas or so slow in responding I fixed it myself by venturing into the
computer forums
