Video on demand

This is not meant to knock anyone, but I just don't get VOD as a business proposition. Why would any punter buy a temporary service, which requires them to continuously pay more money, for material that they can't even download?
Most porn is crap, but the stuff that gets your heart a pumpin' is the stuff that you want to come back to...at least I do. As a punter, token-sites, or variations on the money for minutes theme, seem a ludicrously bad deal. I'd certainly never pay my hard-earned to a VOD site, when I can join a site like Climaxcorner for a tenner a month, or Scorevideo for about 20, (to cite two personal faves), and have hours of dvd-quality material..
So the question is, does anyone really believe that VOD offers punters a good deal?
