That is an anachronism, without a doubt. But I can't recall the last time the Archbishop of Canterbury prayed in public for favourable fiscal statements.

From what I've read they need the lords help with their economy. Apparently its the first time a President has introduced tax cuts during a war.
But the whole inaugaration business reveals what US politics is really about....Give me lots of money to help me get elected then I'll see you are OK.

I hope Moore is watching Pres Bush being sworn in for a second term, then he can see a Man who unlike himself does not fire Political Blanks. I don't like all this pompus Inaugeration stuff seeing as the Oscars are not far away.

Run a tape of every inaguration...Clintons...Bush Sr.'s ...whoever...they all sound the same. I cannot watch this shite...it grates on my nerves. i cannot believe you Brits are watching...you've all got to be laughing or reeling from disgust. (looks like the royals...does it not?)
What floors me is the amount of money spent on this pomp and circumstance bullshit...who do these fuckers think they are? British royalty?
Especially with the war going on. We cannot afford to armour all the Humvees, yet we have thousands to spend on Laura Bush's dress? Huh?!
I hold out hope that maybe someday, we WILL get a REAL fiscal conservative that will do away with this enormous waste of taxpayer money and spend it on something else more worthwhile.
Bush said he was going to "change the tone in Washington"...doesn't look like a damn thing has changed to this dumb yank!

Tradition,Pomp and Ceremony have always been hijacked by whoever is in control on the day
At this time in history its MONEY
Before that it was Religion
Only money can deliver good outcomes for everyone is the simple message we're being led to believe but it must have the blessing of the lord all mighty

THe speech was just chock full of rubbish - no substance whatsoever. I couldn't believe it when I heard him say:
"American won't impose its style of government on the unwilling."
