UTTER BOLLOCKS and then some....thankfully I only watched the first 2
hours episode

It was an expensive joke the first time around in the Seventies and nothings changed by the looks of it,except the props have become extremely cheap

Why anyone would resurrect this dinosaur is beyond me

This review from a none to pleased viewer was quite amusing

cheers

The review is as boring as the new series I guess. Never use one word if twenty will do. 57 varieties of saying "Its crap".

Any old dreck from the seventies* that gets thirtysomething fanboys dewy-eyed with nostalgia has money thrown at it these days it seems. I suppose it makes good business sense - who else shells out for those expensive box sets?

*Jim Carrey's Six Million Dollar Man retread being the next (and it'll be nowhere near as dazzling as our own fifty-six million dollar man - but you knew that anyway).

Got to agree. I love Sci-Fi but htis stinks, the first 2 hours were slower than a John Le Carre novel and they take 200 odd pages to get going.
The original was a lame duck so why spend big bucks on a remake baffles me.
Only 2 good points are the female StarBucks nipples.

I'll agree that the style of the review is long winded & repetitive with its put downs but it raises some interesting issues IMHO

Why do these People continue to re-hash old ideas?

I understand the studios will give the creative people a brief which basically says "We want a story that will reach the widest audience" but is that a good enough reason to drag a dinosaur out of the closet?

I might be wrong but I don't recall BSG having an impact and henceforth a loyal following like the Star Wars and Star Trek sagas

Both are brand names and basically are a licence to print money

BSG on the other hand?

If your even remotely tempted to watch any of the 33 episodes commissioned reading this should put you off

Funny how it was launched in the UK 3 months before the US of A

The series was much better than the mini-series and has been getting good viewing figures in the USA. Good enough to flatten Star Trek Enterprise and have that cancelled (and possibly kill the Star Trek franchise for a while) and to be picked up for a second run of episodes.

I liked the series. It was adult, didn't have a cute kiddie or a gimmick robot in it and the ending to the series was a real shocker.

I'm dreading the new Doctor Who though ;-)

BSG beat Star Trek into submission, don't make me laugh

I simply think people are bored with Star Trek, there are only so many times you can mutate and re-invent yourself

Star Trek has been going for how many years?
Lets face it,while BSG & Star Wars were asleep Star Trek was it
Everything has its shelf life.

BSG resurrects itself when the Star Trek ratings start to decline
Call me cynical but I see some dirty mits at play in this BSG resurrection
