A glorious victory for Newcastle, maybe Souness's luck is starting to change.

Chelsea looked second best, almost saving themselves for Barca. Pity about their injuries.

Still Londoners can be happy Arsenal and Man United are still in the draw.

Any team that wins all 4 trophies in a season would need a squad of 40 players not 25

Good luck to Newcastle but you've got to question Mourinho using all 3 subs at once.

Simply asking for trouble IMHO and as it turned out, trouble was delivered in spades

On the positive side its
one less competition to drain the squads resources from winning the 2 cups that actually count for something The League & Europe

cheers

He made passing reference to it in his Ken Loach post.

I'm disappointed, but looking forward to being in Cardiff next weekend to watch the usual.... Chelsea beating Liverpool!! :-)

With Newcastle not having played last weekend there was nothing to stop them asking for their UEFA Cup tie to be played on Wednesday so that the FA Cup game could be played on Saturday.... EXCEPT they knew if it was played on Sunday Chelsea would put out a weakened team.

Yesterday a Chelsea second XI, which by the end was reduced to 7 fit players, had more possesion and more shots on goal than a virtually full strength Newcastle side who struggled to limp past the finnishing post.

We were lucky when we won 4-0 against Newcastle earlier in the season, this time our luck ran out... but if I was a Newcastle supporter I wouldn't be bragging too much about yesterday's result.

I'm still chuckling at the Man Utd-Londoners jibe. Very amusing.
