Ken Loach films

Local hero here (Nuneaton) has made some crackers, I watched the excellent Sweet Sixteen on BBC2 last night. Not as good as Kes, but still a good nights viewing.
Pity Ken hasn't done some really big budget films, but maybe thats the secret of his sucess; low budgets, unknown actors and real locations.
I remember Magoo posting awhile ago regarding Kens films and was quite supportive of another cracker; 'My name is Joe' about a homeless alcoholic.

Ken's films aren't easy to watch. For his take on the Stalker affair, see Hidden Agenda---a thought-provoking movie.

I absolutely loved Kes.
The book is without a doubt a classic.

I'll put Kes in the same bracket as Gregorys Girl & That Sinking Feeling .
All three films manage to capture a very rar, realistic & believable atmosphere.

.....Tuesday. (for those that have seen That Sinking Feeling)
