If she's set, there isn't much you can do.
If it means that much to her confidence, there's even less.
As a mate, you just have to say your bit and hope that she gets the message, if not, you just have to be a mate and be there when she comes back.
My other sagely advice, is send her to me.

If she's determined to get it done, nothing you say can stop her---no horror stories of procedures gone wrong, no amount of assurances that she doesn't need it. Nothing.
It's a confidence thing, a self-image thing.
Reinforcing her confidence, and trying to get her to look at how she sees herself might work---but only if she's prepared to listen.

There is no answer to that one oh cute one!, a woman who thinks she needs lipo, will always think that! I have had 3 g/friends, all thin just as I like them, but still there FAT, according to them.....go figure!
My advice, let ride, try alternative phsycology, tell her she,s a fat cow with legs like a land rover.......then cover your face.

Not much you can say
This page makes some good points about those that should and those that shouldn't use it.
It also says what many have known for years that there are parts of the human body that are untouchable through exercise & diet so even after surgery odds are that those same spots will start accumulating fat again
This obsession with having the perfect figure really is dangerous as many of these figures aren't real..amazing what you can do on a comuter screen with a picture
Just the thought of a life threateneing blood clot coming post-operation would be enough to put me off
cheers

Being a guy I have no idea how women think, but I've known some absolutely perfect mouth-wateringly spunkin' tight bodied little tarts ( 'xcuse me while I wank ) who are convinced they're too fat.
Why do they think they're fat ? Because they have a cute little bubble-butt just like its supposed to be. Or worse, they have hips ! HIPS !!! On Girls ?
Honestly, the more you try to convince them they're just fucking gorgeous the way they are, the more they think you're patronising them for being ugly. The fact that they turn heads every time they walk down the street isn't enough.
Tell her if liposuction stuffs up she could look like a circus freak for good. If her diet stuffs up, she could finnish up looking normal again.

Give her this to read. It may not change her mind, but if it doesn't horrify her, it will at least make her laugh -

As someone living with weight and image issues all my life I can only concur with what others have already said - it doesnt matter what you say or how well meaning your intentions. Obesity (or the perception of being overweight or fat) is a mental "illness" - I have much more of an issue with how I look than anyone else and yeah it totally controls and ruins my life. When I look in a mirror I see a different person to what others see - because Im VERY tall I am forever getting told by people that Im not that big and only need to lose a few stone at most but in reality I need to lose probably 10. Outwardly I may carry my weight well but inwardly its tearing me apart and its quite likely that its the mental problems that will put me into an early grave or cause me a heart attack rather than the strain my weight is putting on my body.
The only thing you can do is support her in whatever she decides to do - dont tell her she doesnt need to lose weight cos she wont believe you and will do it anyway, just be there for her and maybe try and help her with her mental demons and maybe that will help her to come to see things differently.
Whatever she decides to do she is lucky to have a friend as caring as you and, as someone who knows the feelings she is having, she is in my thoughts and prayers.
