What a performance tonite !
A brilliant 3-1 away victory, makes it 6-2 on aggregate.
Cant wait to play Chelsea in the final ! (I can but hope !)

A good win but lets not get carried away,German football with the exception of Bayern Munich are all at sea at the minute if the thrashings handed out to Werder Bremen 7-2(3rd in the Bundesliga) & Leyerkusen 6-2(7th in the Bundesliga) mean anything
I wouldn't bet on either Chelsea or Liverpool making final
Far too many other quality inform teams still alive...Lyon...Bayern Munich...A C Milan...Juventus
cheers

It was a terrific result for the Mighty Liverpool and Benitez should get a medal for getting this lot into the Quarter Finals.
Okay the Group draw was kind to us as and so was Leverkusen. But you still have to beat them and in truth we have played much better in Europe than in the Premiership.
I truly believe that if Liverpool can sneak into 4th spot this season and get the Champs Lge money for next year that Benitez can significantly close the gap on the current top 3.
But it will take money and quite a bit of it to do so.

you wouldn't have a bet on Chelsea!, they will be even stronger when Robben comes back and they put four past the leaders of the Spanish league which is probably the strongest in the world, you're a brave man fella, i'd have a quid with you on that

The much vaunted Spanish league...teams full of champion individuals and not one Champion team amongst them
Someone will be getting it in the neck in Real Madrid & Barcelona as we speak
I agree Chelsea will be more potent with Robben back but their attack isn't their problem as they showed in the first 20 minutes
Their defense is where they'll either win or lose
Given the chances they offered Barcelona to score its easy to see how the result could have gone the other way
cheers

I still think they can be caught but whether that's by us someone else then I'm not sure.
We have our game in hand next Wednesday at home to Blackburn and then play the blue shite at Anfield 4 days later.
Two wins there and it's right back in the melting pot. However nothing short of 2 wins will do.
I also think it will depend if Everton fall away or not. Let's be honest about it but Everton are a pretty average side. They work hard etc etc but they definitely lack quality and they have had a lot of things go their way this season and you have to think (or hope) that their luck will run out at some stage.
I have no doubt that Liverpool are a better side than the blues but they have an 8pt lead and at this stage of the season and with games fast running out then it's going to be tough to pull them back.
Unless they implode.

I'm really suprised the likes of Ferguson and Wenger didn't use 'plugs' comment in the press monday or tuesday "We'll beat chelsea and i can't see any english teams making it through" . Pin that on the dressing room wall and show the lads . Talented footballer , cracking second goal , but he really ought to have kept his mouth shut , especially with his perfect smile . JJ . He alleged someone called him a "monkey" , but it falls on deaf ears everytime Gallas or Makelele got the ball "monkey chants" from the Barca crowd , hypocrite , no ?

My vision of Hell is to meet Liverpool in the final, and after we have already beaten them 3 times this season, they go and 'do' us for 'the Big One'

well done liverpool, a very good performance. depending on the draw, i can't see the trophy going to anyone but AC Milan or Chelsea, both of whom are so strong defensively.
