The Priest returns!

Judas fucking Priest!!!! Metal legends Judas Priest are reunited with the one and only Rob Halford, the demonic cross of Nosferatu and Dale Winton and are coming to a venue near you in the next few weeks. All credit to the metal gods for touring in support of a stonking new album (Featuring an epic track entitled "Loch Ness!" Come on...how good is that?) rather than going out on a guaranteed money spinning "Greatest Hits" type tour.

This is going to be so awesome, the closest thing to Spinal Tap in all it's loony glory. I cannot wait to hear the original "Twin Lead Attack" of Tipton and Downing in all it's shredding metal majesty, marvel at the speed metal prowess of...eeer...the drummer (Who is really fucking good) and, above all, worship at the satanic church of Halford, the only gay in the heavy metal village (Of the damned).

Straddling the fine line between being the best metal band in the universe and a total load of old bollocks is surely genius! I'm so excited I could blow someone's head off with a shotgun and blame it on a backwards message on a Priest album.

Judas fucking Priest!!

Much under rated are Judas Priest, seem to recall one of those kerrand top 100 HM singles lists and they topped it with 9,next best AC/DC(heavy metal my ass) 5

Any heavy metal poll you look at their up there

REAL Heavy Metal and not pretenders like Iron Maiden

Something to look forward too if Halfords voice is still in shape

"Something to look forward too if Halfords voice is still in shape"

He certainly sings extremely well on the new album with lots of variety in his voice, I personally prefer his voice now. There's also a dvd in with the new album featuring half a dozen or so classic songs recorded live and he's also bang-on on all these tracks. In fact the whole band are smoking hot.

I'm hoping they'll play the intense "Painkiller" but that requires Halford to hit stratospheric notes. I'm sure he can still do it!

Just in case anyone cares I thought I would say that Judas Priest were excellent last night, from the opening track 'electric eye' right through to the end they were fantastic. they still know how to put on a great performance after 35 years together. Halfords voice did suffer in a couple of songs but over all he was great.
The Scorpians were also excellent, great to see 2 of the greats of rock/metal on the same bill at hammy 'o' again.

who beats the skins nowadays? The 'original' drummer, in the classic line-up went to prison last year for sexually assaulting one of his male teen students.
Rock n Roll Groupies must have steered clear of him 'back in the day'

It's an American bloke called Scott Travis who first joined them on the "Painkiller" album and he's fucking quick if you like that style. If I can be ultra geeky I'd say it was between him and Dave Lombardo from Slayer as to who is the ultimate speed metal sticksman.

We had our own support act of sorts up in the balcony last night at the gig, a blonde girl out of her mind on either acid or e who was "Communing" with the band last night...all night, one moment berating them and the next seeming to be in near orgasmic states of bliss. Freaky.

Huge respect to the air guitarist near me who played a blinder all night, he even had an air whammy bar on his air guitar. Top man.
