Is there a new series starting or something? Why haven't they told us?

I was disappointed, it has been on BBC digital already.

However, good to see Nicola Bryant and Louise Jameson looking fit as hell.

Pity no Mary Tamm, a classic beauty.

It was absolute rubbish (Dr. Who Night) - I can't believe how amateur the old stuff looked ... and to think I used to watch it. I bet the new series will be crap, it's already too over hyped and pitched at the average 10 year olds ... who may enjoy it. I'll definately be giving it a BIG miss.

New series starts 7pm next Saturday (26th)!

It's bound to be a bit shit and cheesy, but then Dr Who is supposed to be.

I wish they would bring back Nicola Bryant, if only for a guest slot. I have such fond memories of her mammaries.

I loved Doctor Who when I was a kid (the Tom Baker era), but stopped watching after he regenerated into Peter Davison, I just lost interest. The big bright 80's effects caused the show to lose much of it's appeal to me - everything seemed bright white and high-tech, wheras in the 70's even though the "monsters" and effects were sometimes laughable, the stories and presentation were darker, and thus more effective and satisfying. I'm a big fan of the Jon Pertwee era as well, great stuff.
I know when Colin Baker took over as The Doctor, the BBC powers-that-be started meddling and that was the programmes downfall but I am not familier enough with those shows to pass comment.
I think the new series has the potential to be genuinely great, it's been resurected with love and fondness - but it will be a different kettle of fish to the classic 70's era.
