Ratzinger. Bit weird talkin about a Pope on an adult forum.
He won't be John Paul II but good luck to him anyway.

probably worse, this guy is ultra hardline who recently wrote that all other faiths were 'deficient'. A lot of gays and HIV sufferers will be in dismay at this appointment

Why good luck to him? Its the poor buggers in his "care" who'll need the good luck. Seems like he'll be a bigger bastard than his predecessor.

Not sure how comfortable that lyric is in light of his conviction. 'I was only looking for research...' Of course you were Pete. No way you could have imagined what was on the site you joined. No way you could have worked with child protecion agencies, or the police, if you really wanted help with your 'research.' Quite clear what he is, in my opinion, and he should have gone down. If you pay for paedophile images you're supporting the industry. That, to me, is a crime.
Operation Ore was real eye-opener for me. It should've nailed far more people thqn it did. Shame someone leaked the operation giving plenty of time for those about be collared to dispose of that inconvenient evidence on their hard drives. If even half the rumours about who was on that list are true it'd be depressing.
Quite appropriate on a papal thread to be talking about paedophilia. Wonder if Pope Benny will address the position of Bernard Law, the cardinal who is the ex bishop of Boston? He's the guy who, for years, sheltered all those charming paedo priests in the US. I notice that the Church is being sued for hundreds of millions over the multiple incidents, but Law has been rewarded quote 'for faithful service' with a cushy official position in the Vatican. In 2004, JP personally appointed him archpriest of St. Mary Major Basilica in Rome, one of the four most important basilicas in the city. Still, as Pope Benny is as progressive as Johnny P was, I think cardinal Law can afford to get comfy in his Vatican apartment.
Yes I was a Catholic. No I'm not Rebekah Wade.
If you're interested, couple of links on Law:

Coming from a good old Italian RC family, Although as you may know I do not follow my religion, but I do feel that everyone is entitled to their belief and to be happy with them, I am a little outraged at this choice of new pope.
An ex nazi whether he was forced to be on or not, should not be allowed.
If he was such a believer he would have gone to his grave rather than be a Nazi. Like the example his leader J.C. set on the cross a long time ago.

The hard line pope: set to condemn millions to death through ignorance. I hate the Catholic Church as an institution, it really is evil.
