Been trying to find out what is considered illegal and can not be shown being inserted into a vagina.

Most of my US mag editors will not use fruit and veg inserts, as the change in acidity can cause problems, and I guess they don't want to be sued by someone who got the idea from the mag. It looks like actually sex toys are the only acceptable inserts now.
