Unless you're talking about some new version, that's been around for many years steve56.
You mean the bottled beer that still has the yeast settled at the bottom? Before home brewing was "legal" people used to cultivate that residue for making their own.

White Shield is now only made at the Coors visitor centre in Burton On Trent, they only make small batches every few months if it was left to the main Brewery they would have stoped producing it years ago but the old Bass museum (now renamed The Coors Visitor Centre) took it on .

I seem to remember that bar staff cursed silently if you ordered one, because it has to be poured very carefully. They loved you to pour it for yourself.
[Hint for steve56. Pick the sexiest barmaid, order a White Shield and say "Thats OK, I'll pour it. You must be very busy 'cos you are the prettiest barmaid in here."]
