Just had a worrying but overcome problem. The icon on my toolbar was greyed-out meaning some element wasn't working. Message that the internal database wasn't up to date. It actually is up to date but AVG seems to think its June not May so it was telling me that I hadn't updated for 32 days....lol.

The version on my machines work ok, but I installed it on my sister's machine and it did exactly what you describe - plus it made the pc think new hardware had been installed and wanted drivers for AVG-Kernel. Very odd behaviour, so I took it off. I've had problems with AVG installation in the past, the only way it would let me uninstall it was in safe mode. It's one of these products that wither works first time or gives endless problems and no real clue to why they are occurring.
