I was quite suprised to find out today that the company has gone bust.
I visited Birmingham today, and where there were 2 stores a few months ago, are now both empty units. I asked adjacent shops who both said the company had gone bust after Easter.
When they first opened, they were very good, but lately, tacky shit like Simpsons Chess Sets and Dancing robots took over what was once 'unique'.
I have an 80's arcade game from The Gaget Shop with Pac-Man and Glaxaian, which to me, is better than that PS2 stuff, which I soon tire of when I have'nt passed the first level

I was at one that was having a closing down sale a few months ago.
It used to be a good store once upon a time but ended up like you say, selling shit....at ridiculous prices.

Well the shop at the Merry Hill sold an incredible line in Blow Up Aliens in all colours.

Problem being the Merry Hill is frequented by Aliens who felt the gadget shop was taking the piss!

They also sold Alien Alarm Clocks, Alien Pencils, Alien Watches, Alien Calculators, Alien Robots that light up, Alien Robots that didn?t light up, Realistic Dr Who style Alien Space crafts with musical interface and 50,000 things in one multi tool which breaks on first use.

R.I.P Gadget Shop (they did a bloody good line in Aliens)

I bought the Alien suit naughty Xmas special from The Gadget shop with 2 bonus alien anal probes for 99p (looked nothing like the picture). I thought bargain, well the mrs was very disapointed!! I doubt the suit was big enough to have fitted Mr Tattoo from Fantasy Island & the plastic anal probes with glowing ends!!, we ended up in the casualty ward on boxing day! very embarrassing.
So good riddance to all that cheap tat alien crap...

Not to mention the blowup alien doll with anti-gravity vagina & warp-drive vibrating life like mouth. bollocks the lot of it!
