The sick-inducing people were the government of Ethiopia, where protestors were shot dead in Addis Ababa. With the guy in charge having been feted by western leaders and viewed as a poster boy for African democracy by many, it's no wonder Bob was pissed off.

Seeing as he's an Irish citizen, and that the "Sir" Bob is an honorific, I don't think he's likely to get one.

It might be a case of 20 years down the road, and nothing has really changed that's pissing him off

Ah, yes, Ben Elton - what a twat he is. Always expressing solidarity with the miners, proletariat, ANC, etc. The reality is that he probably doesn?t know any real chavs 'n' scumbags, never mixed with them and would soon turn his nose up if was forced to work on a building site with 'em - because he would get short shrift (and possibly a kicking) if he tried to turn snap-time conversations to his favorite, poncy, pretentious, middleclass interest subjects, like, third world debt, globalisation and 'wimmin's issues'. But the people who work on building sites (and similar) are not pretentious, and the only 'wimmin's' issues they are interested in (and quite rightly so) are - how big are their tits and how hairy are their beavers! I speak here from building site experience in the early 80's. Yeah, he wouldn?t get very far trying to discuss the literary merits of his books and plays with the real proletariat, on the council estates of Leeds, I can tell yer. They wouldn't stand for him, no way.
