Great Britain is technically just England, Scotland and Wales and their out-islands. The United Kingdom in it's full term is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Netherlands is the whole country, technically Holland is just two of the 12 provinces - Noord-Holland & Zuid-Holland. (North & South). It's a popular misconception by foreigners that Holland is a synonym for Netherlands ... it comes about because Amsterdam is in North-Holland and for most people Amsterdam is Holland or the Netherlands. For administrative reasons (police etc) this province is sub divided and gets the stupid name Noord-Holland Noord (North-Holland North). The main cities of the Netherlands lie in the Randstad (edge cities) - down the strip Amsterdam-Den Haag-Utrecht-Rotterdam - and the areas between the cities is known as The Green Heart (Groene Hart). Useless info maybe.

Oh my gawd!
My main problem is my ruler only works in old money so what the Europeans call a 10X10 i know not unless of course its a pine log cabin built by quality sweedish craftsmen helped by sassy little tight waisted blonde chicks.
Right thats me I'm off the Sweeden to get me measuring stick converted?

10x4 is standard in Europe, 300x5000 standard in USA, 1x1 sudan, and all the rest depend on which way the grain of the wood is.
Anybody know that.

LATEST:
I'm just in Schveeden being helped to build a 10X8 with a nice little belter named Agnia. My wood does appear to be graining rather well and according to Agnia Great Britain is Ingerland, Scoterland and Valesch!
Me Euro's are fcuked and its colder than Rhyl

A highly educational ( or ed-jah-kash-un-ll if you're Sir Les Patterson ) set of answers.
Thanks to you all. And I'll be voting for Australia to stay out of the EU.
