According to Sir Bob himself

They are on 2nd from last

1) Breathe
2) Comfortably numb
3) Wish you were here

Does that give Gilmour the lion's share of vocal duties?

Breathe - Gilmour?
Numb - Waters and Gilmour
Wish You Were Here - Gilmour?

It's going to be odd for an audience that wants to sing along to that lot. Good choices---and if Run Like Hell was added too, sublime.

The stand-outs of Live Aid---Queen and U2---understood that the crowd wanted to be involved, and gave them every opportunity. I hope some of the Live 8 acts are as savvy.

I don't really like Pink Floyd at all, but I'm very much looking forward to seeing their performance, mainly because it's a 'big deal', an historic moment in the history of music that I would like to witness.

Breathe's a good choice.

I'm kinda bored with Comfortably Numb now - been on too many live albums/videos/DVDs. Same applies to Wish You Were Here. Would have been nice to hear something from Animals, but as mentioned elsewhere it looks like a crowd-friendly, sing-along selection and I suppose there can really be no arguments. If they get to do an encore I would guess Money will be favourite. Be interesting to see if they have the extra musicians that have been a feature of "Gilmour Floyd".

Would love to see Gilmour put a band together to take his solo album stuff out again. I saw his Floyd at Wembley Stadium on the Momentary Lapse.... tour and while I enjoyed it I think I enjoyed his "About Face" gig at Hammersmith much more (apart from the idiot who kep shouting "Bad Company" in Mick Ralphs' direction between songs).

I'm all for Floyd setting their differences, but isn't this a tad opportunist? Would a healing of the wounds without Live8 be given the same column space?

Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt Gilmore's sincerity or Water's for that matter, but there's something too cosy about this. I'm sure they'll prove noteworthy on the night, but I'd rather they reformed out of pure artistic gravity rather than the leaden moral handcuffs of Geldof's latest hectoring.

Just a thought...
