They all do after 3 weeks of what can only be torture.
He has been absolutely awesome but I for one won't be sad to see the back of him as the Tour De France has become boring with him annihalating everybody for the last 7 years (although obviously not his fault).
Great sportsman and he deserves a happy retirement.

When Sean Kelly won in 1987 the silly man only went and did a lap of honour!!!

He deserves a lie in indeed. The lucky man gets to lie in with Sheryl Crow.

As a winner at age 33 he joins a select few
The only way he was ever going to be beaten was via serious injury
Even if someone followed his lead and just concentrated on The Tour De France and bypass all the lesser tours they'd be hard pressed to get a competitive team to match Discovery for team work
7 time winner will stand for a few years me thinks
Wouldn't surprise if next years winner comes from Team Discovery AGAIN
cheers

Sorry, Jacques - I just thought that might have some bearing on the matter.
Now that you've thrown a spanner in the works, I'd better soft-pedal from now on and frame my replies more carefully - just as I was considering moving up a gear.
