Taiyo Yuden are generally recognised as being the best. I use them for important stuff as they are supposed to be archive quality with a 100 year life in proper conditions. So far I have burned about 80 with no duds to date. Only disadvantage is that they are a bit pricy.
Verbatim DataLifePlus (the Plus designation does make a difference) come a very close second and are significantly cheaper. Again no duds to date.
SVP, who I use regularly and are reliable, sell both:

Ive burned 100s of TYs and not had a coaster yet , SVP are the only place you can get the unbranded TYs in the UK they about ?20 for a 100 but well worth the price.
