I blame the Media

Its 99 percent Negative & 1 percent 'good news story'

Its basically slagging everyone off everyday of the week which only re-enforces prejudicial views that many already hold

Balanced reporting would be nice but as we all know the Media simply used FEAR to sell its product in the same way that Politicians use FEAR to get re-elected

Society is feeding the masses a nasty mix of bullshit, they take their cues from the media. If the atmosphere is one of hatred and fear then the media are as much to blame as the extremists, what "The Sun Says" (or The Mirror, Sport, Mail or any of the other chip papers) is influencing how people see things - it doesn't make it any less real though.
What we are in the midst of though is the result of 25 years of telling people to accept these other cultures without any real explanation or integration. The "ignorant whites" know it is wrong to diss the Asians or to critsize Islam, they know not why. People have not been educated on racism, they have been lectured and told. Despite the bleatings of an intellectual few (and the remarks about "WASPs" really don't help, they just infer that the white man really is the devil), society doesn't want true integration or understanding, what we dealing with is organised religion. Organised religions claim to be all about love, but in reality they about fear and divide - and that appiles to christianity, catholicism and islam (and most points in between).
As far as I can see, most terrorist attacks (and this refers as much to our Irish friends as the muslim bombers) are caused by religion and subsequent religious division as much as any territorial matter and this will never ever change. Right now, the masses feel threatened by Asian terrorists, they see the carnage in London and, unlike in the days of "Paddy-with-a-grudge", cannot really understand why it is happening. Northern Ireland was understandable as it was on our doorstep and our problem, Asian muslims (even if they were UK born and bred) are being seen as importing these beliefs and grudges from the other side of the world and therein lies the problem - and it doesn't matter how often Bliar pays lip service by carrying the bloody koran around with him.
All countries and societies have their disfunctional elements, ignorance doesn't discriminate against colour or creed.
