After the sad death of Robin Cook, Labour has now lost another person of honesty, courage and high principles.

A sad loss to Labour. I really liked her. A very personable lady...Loyal too. She was a credit to the nation.

Agree with the above. She came across as a very honest, politician who didnt go in for endless spin, evasive answers, careerist manouevres etc. which seems to be the hallmark of so many of New Labour. She was very brave and open about her brain tumour and the effects of her treatment.

She is a sad loss, indeed
David

Sad to hear all this talk of how unique she was. Here was the sort of MP we needed more of rather than less.

Anyone who goes into a crowded press conference and takes off her wig, complaining about how itchy it was, and carries on with her job, has to have been a special person. Another great loss.

Robin, Mo . . . . Given these things usually happen in threes, a few Blair rebels must be shitting themselves at the moment.

I would simply like to show my respect by spelling her name correctly.

The highest tribute that you can give her is that there are people walking the streets of Northern Ireland today who would otherwise be dead if it wasnt for her.Along with Clinton and Albert Reynolds the real architects of peace not Blair who tried to hijack it for his own ends.

Point taken.Although I found it sad that she was shunted out as Northern Ireland secretary to make way for Mandelson's return to cabinet.
