Some of it was quite bad, but when it worked it was fabulous.

Thatcher as the Alien, the Tomorrow Belongs To Me bit at the end of the 1987 election special, and some of the individual puppets were just wonderful. The all grey Major and those meals will Norma were a treat--- embarrassing silences and all. "The peas are nice tonight, dear."

As the people who made it pointed out, the first series was called pitiful by the critics. By the time the second series came out, the critics were saying it's not as funny as it used to be :-)

Steve Davis thanked the creators for giving him some character, while Jeremy Paxman is now more of a caricature than his puppet.

Returning, possibly.

The thuggish Tebbit, PC Dimbleby of the Yard, the slug Kenneth Baker, a pocket-sized David Steel, and of course the spluttering and splattering Roy Hattersley. Class.

Did you know that Parkinson had the courts issue a gagging order (no pun intended) on Ms Keays to prevent her daughter being named in newspapers? They used the Mary Bell legislation, which was intended to protect the identity of the child killer to stop Keays selling stories to the press about her daughter.

The order remained in place until Flora turned 18, three years ago.

I'll never forget the last episode they ever did with a "Spitting Image" look to the future....

....which they got right (unfortunately in some respects) lol!
