computer help needed

Guys an' gals i need a bit of help. If I buy a computer abroad how do i change the operating system (i think its called that) so it is in English. Is it at all possible. Any responses in non geek talk please!!!

In XP Start > Control Panel > Date, Time, Language and Regional Options > Regional Language Options
Than select English UK.

Of course if it is in another language you don't understand I can do you some screen shots for you to follow. Let me know and I will email them to you.

Missed a bit sorry.
Should read Start > Control Panel > Date, Time, Language and Regional Options > Regional Language Options > Language Tab
Than select English UK
If it is not installed click Add and then select English UK.

When i tried this on my english computer (turning the french option on) when rebooted, the start up menus and icons hadn't changed from english to french?

I think Lara means the actual language of the OS Jacques.
When I bought a laptop in Montreal I had to tell the assistant I wanted an English not French one.

In that case then:
It doesn't look like XP Home is supported though.

There are quite a few mentions of this but it all depends on what OS your using by the look of it
Try searching this site under 'changing language operating system'
for your particular OS
